gmsh - python, STEP file import: size of imported object
Dear all.
I can import an object from a STEP file via:
gmsh.merge(<path_of_file>)
gmsh.model.mesh.createGeometry()
This works well, and I also know the tag number of the object. How can I get now the size of the imported object? - I would like to obtain the bounding box coordinates, xmin, ymin, zmin, xmax, ymax and zmax.
Thanks for just a few key words.
PS: Is this here also a forum for such kind of questions? If not, then sorry. ;-) Is there then another, official forum for asking questions with respect to gmsh?
EDIT: I have finally found out that I have to use 'gmsh.model.getBoundingBox(dim, tag)' (thanks to the python 'help' command inside a python shell). However, I get 0 values. I guess, something after 'gmsh.model.mesh.createGeometry()' must follow ... .
