Loading geometry from step files
Hi, when I open two intersecting half-tori from a step file
I get strange results with gmsh:
The volume is removed and only the curves are translated. Whereas the same file opened with netgen/oce gives me one of the half-tori:
The output from the gmsh loading process is the following:
Info : Reading 'int.step'... Info : Starting shape healing (tolerance: 1e-08) Info : - fix degenerated edges and faces Info : repaired face 1 Info : (some wires are fixed) Info : repaired face 4 Info : (some wires are fixed) Info : - fixing small edges Info : removing degenerated edge 1 from vertex 1 to vertex 1 Info : removing degenerated edge 3 from vertex 1 to vertex 1 Info : removing degenerated edge 5 from vertex 2 to vertex 2 Info : removing degenerated edge 7 from vertex 2 to vertex 2 Info : - fixing wire gaps Info : some 3D gaps fixed Info : - fixing spot and strip faces Info : - sewing faces Info : ----------------------------------- Info : Compounds : 1 (1) Info : Composite solids : 0 (0) Info : Solids : 0 (2) Info : Shells : 0 (2) Info : Wires : 4 (6) Info : Faces : 4 (6) Info : Edges : 4 (8) Info : Vertices : 2 (2) Info : Totol surface area : 0.00512406 (0.0212218) Info : ----------------------------------- Info : Done reading 'int.step'
Is there a way to properly load the geometry similar to what netgen/oce does? Apparently the two torus faces are there in the file (face1 and face4) but get then repaired and deleted. Though, this also happens when I turn off all the shape healing from OCC.
Thank you!
