Complex shaped hole from .stl
Hi gmsh community,
I’m currently trying to introduce complex shaped pores from .stl files into a polycrystalline structure. That means that my material is not defined by one big volume but multiple smaller volumes connected and making up the material. Merging the tutorials 5 and 13 I’ve managed to create a complex shaped hole that is fully enclosed by a single volume. I do all the operations using the built-in CAD kernel (OpenCASCADE can’t handle the stl mesh so I can’t use the Boolean operations). However, in my polycrystal it could happen that the complex hole is not fully enclosed by a single volume but rather lies in multiple volumes. Whenever I try to do this, gmsh fails the meshing. Is there any smart way to accomplish what I’m trying to build?
Thanks in advance! Niklas
