Export `.mesh` to `.inp`: Element and Node Sets are not correctly exported
I have a 3D structured mesh consisting of straight-sided hexahedrons that discretizes the NACA0012 airfoil.
The beginning of the .mesh
file looks like this:
$MeshFormat
2.2 0 8
$EndMeshFormat
$PhysicalNames
8
3 1 "mesh"
2 2 "b2-symmetry_y_strong"
2 3 "b3-symmetry_y_strong"
2 4 "b4-farfield_riem"
2 5 "b5-farfield_riem"
2 6 "b6-viscous_solid"
2 7 "b7-farfield_riem"
2 8 "b8-to-stitch-a"
$EndPhysicalNames
$Nodes
7458
1 5.0100000000002e+02 0.0000000000000e+00 0.0000000000000e+00
and further down the elements are given as
$Elements
11016
1 5 2 1 1 1 34 35 2 3730 3763 3764 3731
In particular, the elements are assigned to the different physical sets needed for the boundary conditions.
When exporting this to Abaqus, this information is somehow lost, as every ELSET
contains every element and analogous, every NSET
contains every node index.
I am using gmsh
version 4.11.1 on Ubuntu Linux. Both versions of the mesh file are attached.
