how to generate a 2d mesh from .step file which results in a "closed manifold" mesh
Hi, I generate 2d triangular surface meshes from step files bu using gmsh. The problem is I want these meshes to be closed manifolds. I've got obtained successful meshes for some geometries, yet failed for some. For instance, one of the resulting meshes I have includes the following properties:
" Unreferenced Vertices: 191, Boundary Edges: 14, Mesh is composed by 6 connected component(s), Mesh has 2579 non two manifold edges and 3576 faces are incident on these edges, Mesh has a undefined number of holes (non 2-manifold mesh), Genus is undefined (non 2-manifold mesh) "
After I get the resulting mesh with gmsh, I imported the off file that contains the mesh into MeshLab. The above is what MeshLab says.
Is there a way for getting a closed manifold mesh, or is there a way for clearing the above properties through a post-processing function in gmsh?
Thanks.
