Current SU2 export is not compatible with SU2
Hello, The recent change to export volume tags in the SU2 export (!473 (merged)) is not compatible with SU2. We have strong assumptions that the markers are "N-1"D entities, e.g. for 3D we do not even handle 3D vtk types when storing markers. Even in 2D there is no feature in the code that can make use of a 2D marker, it is an inefficient no-op at best (all mpi ranks read the tags on the assumption this is cheap compared to the volume), and if the user tries to use the volume marker for a boundary condition the behavior will be totally undefined (the geometry properties of the median dual grid of the markers will not have been computed properly). Noting that SU2 is mainly a node-centered code it would make more sense to define volume tags based on points (we only look at elements during preprocessing). Many SU2 users use GMSH and this will be difficult for us to support or mitigate in SU2, I kindly ask that this change is reverted.
Thank you and best regards, Pedro
