Low Mesh Quality in specific region
Dear all,
its me again with a question regarding the mesh quality. I am simulating/meshing a gear, where we need the teeth to be meshed finer than the rest of the body. For the fine meshed region I am using a field:
`gmsh.model.mesh.field.add("Constant", 3)
gmsh.model.mesh.field.setNumber(3, "VIn", meshSizeFine)
gmsh.model.mesh.field.setNumbers(3, "VolumesList", [Volume Ids which should be meshed fine])
gmsh.model.mesh.field.setAsBackgroundMesh(3)`
For the mesh generation I am using second order Elements and the "Frontal-Delaunay" / "Frontal" Algorithms. The Optimization is done with the HighOrder Method: gmsh.model.mesh.optimize('HighOrder')
. Since other Algorithms still have negative Jacobians after optimization with the some methods and the Highorder Method yields the best results.
Now i am facing the problem, that the element quality is bad in the tooth rooth region. Please see attached file
Is it in someway possible to enforce a better quality in a specific region or to improve the quality beyond the HighOrder - Method? I know, that it's hard to answer the question without a MWE, but the code is quite long and hard to follow.
Best regards, Jonas
