Creating a circle with four elements ?
Hi all,
I am trying to mesh a circle (cylinder) with four triangular (prismatic) elements - however, it seems that gmsh will not allow me to use anything less than 6 elements along the circumference. In the end I want to use 2nd order prismatic elements (type = 18) to model fuel pins and coolant holes in a nuclear reactor (and since there is a great number of these, I want to use as few elements as possible).
I have tried to set:
-> the locally specified sizes lc using the addPoint(x,y,z,tag,lc)
-> setting the field sizes using gmsh.model.mesh.field.setNumber
-> setting the size from curvatures
-> resizing the size with MeshSizeFactor
I have attached an image of the mesh I'd like to have of e.g. a fuel pin and a minimum working example. The only thing that does work is setting the algorithm to 3 or 9 but the quality is low (see attached image).
Do you have any suggestion as to how I can reach 4 elements on a circular entity?
Thank you in advance!
