Update normals after changing the coordinates of nodes / Thickness of deformed surface
Hi,
I am trying to mesh complex 3D surfaces from raster data. The boundaries of the surface are irregular so my approach has been to:
1: Extract the external boundary
2: Define and mesh a surface in 2D/
3: Move the nodes in the 3rd dimension (Here I am using the approach used in the flatten.py
elements.
It seems to work so far.
My pb now is that the surface has some thickness. I would like to had that and define a volume.
I thought a starting point would be to use the normals but they don't seem to be updated after moving the nodes.
I am clearly missing something here.
I have seen that we can use the extrudeBoundaryLayer
to create that "thickness"
Any ideas, hints?
Thanks!
