Geometry diagnostics before mesh generation? "No elements in volume xx" error
Hi there,
I know the issue regarding the above error message has come up a lot on this forum, but I encountered it while meshing a geometry that I believe should work.
I imported the aircraft geometry from a STEP file (attached), and then tried to generate a 3D mesh of the volume. This didn't go through, the error message reporting "No elements in volume 1". I wondering if there might be an issue with the geometry representation that is preventing Gmsh/OCC from seeing the volume as a solid body and not as an open surface (for example, if there was a small hole somewhere). However, the CAD program (Solidworks) indeed shows the model as a solid body so I'm not sure what's wrong here.
Is there a way to perform this diagnosis in Gmsh?
Any help would be much appreciated.
