Creating an anisotropic background mesh with gmsh?
Hej,
I was looking at t17 today and can really see how helpful an anisotropic mesh could be. however i cannot find how to create the t17_bgmesh.pos file. I tried using MathEvalAnsio thinking it would behave similarly as the metric tensor in example 10.1.1 from the mmg3d manual that you quote in [14] (link: https://hal.inria.fr/hal-00681813). It basically defines this such that the inverse of the diagonal elements is the distance in that direction. So I defined a simple example in gmsh
SetFactory("OpenCASCADE");
Box(1) = {0, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1};
Field[1] = MathEvalAniso;
Background Field = 1;
Field[1].M11 = "20";
Field[1].M12 = "0";
Field[1].M13 = "0";
Field[1].M22 = "30";
Field[1].M23 = "0";
Field[1].M33 = "40";
But this produces a view that only shows 20 as a value.
So how do i use this correctly now?
