How to create 3D conforming meshes for fluid-solid interaction
Dear GMSH community,
I need to prepare two 3D meshes for fluid-solid interaction simulation: one for the fluid and another for the solid. The problem is sketched below. I have two boxes: a big one (fluid) and a small one (solid).
For the solid, the left side (corresponding to x=0, 2<y<3, 2<z<3 ) is clamped (physical tag=5) and rest all other sides are fluid-solid interface (physical tag = 1).
For the fluid, the sides which are common with the small box are fluid-solid interface (physical tag = 1) and rest all other sides are with (physical tag = 6)
My solver needs that the meshes should have the matching nodes at the fluid-solid interface. I used the mesh.geo file to create meshes by un-commenting the respective parts for fluid and solid. I also attach the generated files: f.msh and s.msh s.msh.
My problem is that the two meshes are not conforming at the fluid-solid interface. I wrote a simple python script check_fsi.py which reads both meshes and then checks the interface nodes. I get that the two meshes do not have the same number of interface nodes.
How to solve this problem and to generate conforming meshes?
I am using GMSH version 4.4.1 on ubuntu 20.04.
Many thanks, Deepak
