suface normals orientation
One of the pygmsh users creates a 3D surface mesh using extrusion,
import pygmsh
W, w, H, h, L = 10.0, 1.8, 5.0, 0.3, 5.0
with pygmsh.geo.Geometry() as geom:
poly = geom.add_polygon(
[
[0.0, W / 2, 0.0],
[0.0, -W / 2, 0.0],
[0.0, -W / 2, H],
[0.0, -(W / 2 - w), H],
[0.0, -(W / 2 - w), h],
[0.0, (W / 2 - w), h],
[0.0, (W / 2 - w), H],
[0.0, W / 2, H],
],
mesh_size=0.5,
)
geom.extrude(poly, translation_axis=[L, 0, 0])
mesh = geom.generate_mesh(dim=2)
mesh.write("U_Tank.vtk")
Question: Is is possible to force the triangle orientation such that their normals point outwards?
