Segfault: CreateGeometry on Large Surface Mesh
Hi,
I am trying to include a surface mesh directly into gmsh for remeshing (from-src-build version 4.5.1, node has >500GiB memory). The mesh is split into six parts the regular top mesh (containing mountain topography), four flat sides and a flat bottom. Everything works nicely for small examples on my Desktop. However, when increasing the mesh resolution, I am getting a segfault after this message: "Creating geometry of discrete surfaces..."
So far I have tried the following without success:
- Playing around with the tolerances
- Generating less degenerated meshes (more triangles) for the sides
- Using ascii-STL input instead of binary
I am attaching the .geo-file which I am using: la_habra_topo.geo You can find the STLs here (warning: the top-stl is 1.5G): https://www.dropbox.com/s/gkcjl380nhnugma/20_02_03_meshes_topo.tar.xz?dl=0 If this helps, here is low resolution-version of the STLs: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8o4gmgiwipuiape/20_02_03_surface_low_res.tar.xz?dl=0
Suggestions / hints are welcome. Maybe I overlooked some trivial solution, e.g., an extrude I could apply to my mountain topography.
