Specify Hex20 opposed to default Hex27 for OCC brep
Hello,
I recently picked up gmsh and I have been experimenting with various meshing techniques (which has been really fun!). I have successfully created different abaqus input files using various meshing techniques.
However, I wanted to use gmsh to do a small test of parametric models created by OCC to compare similar meshing techniques and element choices in Abaqus, but I seem to be struggling with some of the basics in gmsh. I seem to be unable to find any way of specifying Hex20 as the global default element type opposed to the default Hex27 elements for the 2nd order elements. I have tried to find an answer in the documentation or elsewhere online, but unfortunately found nothing that seem to do the job.
Here is a snippet from my .geo file.
SetFactory("OpenCASCADE");
Mesh.ElementOrder=2;
Mesh.CharacteristicLengthMin = 0.003;
Mesh.CharacteristicLengthMax = 0.006;
Mesh.Algorithm3D=1; // (1: Delaunay, 4: Frontal, 7: MMG3D, 9: R-tree, 10: HXT)
Mesh.SubdivisionAlgorithm = 2;
Mesh.ElementOrder = 2; // 2 = QUADRATIC / 1 = Linear
a() = ShapeFromFile("ashape.brep");
I might have missed something basic, but if anyone could help out, I would surely appreciate it,
Kind Regards Kristoffer
