3D Surface normal extrusion for non-built-in entities

Hi everybody. I have been working recently on the automatic mesh generation for 3D RANS cases. After some work, I have been able to build a hybrid structured-unstructured surface mesh (see attached files) using Open Cascade, importing the BREP file and using GMSH algorithms. To finish the job, and create a good quality mesh, I need to extrude the surface mesh (boundary layer area). However, the normal surface extrusion (see attached files) is not available currently on non-built (BREP) entities . I was wondering if this issue can be overcome, and how big would be the effort.
