Remeshing STL surfaces: value set in 'Mesh.RemeshParametrization' ignored for most surfaces in Gmsh 3.0
Hello,
I was able to successfully remesh several STL surfaces using Gmsh v2.14.0 and v2.16.0 on a 64-bit machine running Ubuntu 14.04. I have attached a sample geo file (stl_remeshing.geo, based on tutorial 13) that merges 4 low-quality STL files and remeshes them with compounds.
However, with Gmsh 3.0 (v3.0.3 and v3.0.6), I cannot force the value set in 'Mesh.RemeshParametrization' to all surfaces. In the logs that I have attached, you can see that despite having set 'Mesh.RemeshParametrization = 3;', I get:
…
Info : Meshing surface 13 (Compound surface, Delaunay)
Info : Parametrizing surface 13 with 'convex map'
Info : Meshing surface 14 (Compound surface, Delaunay)
Info : Parametrizing surface 14 with 'convex map'
Info : Meshing surface 15 (Compound surface, Delaunay)
Info : Parametrizing surface 15 with 'convex map'
…
Instead, for versions 2.14.0-2.16.0, I obtain:
…
Info : Meshing surface 13 (Compound surface, Delaunay)
Info : Parametrizing surface 13 with 'harmonic map'
Info : Meshing surface 14 (Compound surface, Delaunay)
Info : Parametrizing surface 14 with 'harmonic map'
Info : Meshing surface 15 (Compound surface, Delaunay)
Info : Parametrizing surface 15 with 'harmonic map'
…
Do you have any suggestions to get around this issue? For one STL surface, the correct map is used.
Thank you very much in advance.
