Meshing thin structures from a Binary image
Dear GMSH team,
First of all, thank you for providing a wonderful software as open source. I wanted to know if there was easy way to mesh a Binary image in GMSH having thin structures (in my case, it represents plant roots). The image produced from actual plant roots looks something like
where white regions are root and black regions are soil.
To mesh the above image, I use boundary tracing algorithm to get spline function of white black borders. To do this, I manually erase some portion in the below figure (yellow region) so that roots (white region) can be represented as a single spline function and can thus be easily meshed and identified by markers. If I do not do such manual erasing, then the yellow region will be considered as roots by boundary tracer but in reality it is soil.
Is it possible to use the binary image directly to resolve all white regions as one physical surface and all black regions as another physical surface?
