Is there anyway to create thick shell elements
Hi, thanks for maintaining GMSH API, It is very helpful.
This time I would like to ask if there is a way to create thick shell elements when transforming to .key format. I mean, I created a surface and extruded, later when exported to ls-dyna format, I obtained the regular syntaxis as:
*ELEMENT_SHELL $# eid pid n1 n2 n3 n4 n5 n6 n7 n8 617 2000001 2 201 508 79 0 0 0 0 618 2000001 201 202 509 508 0 0 0 0 619 2000001 202 203 510 509 0 0 0 0 620 2000001 203 204 511 510 0 0 0 0 621 2000001 204 205 512 511 0 0 0 0 622 2000001 205 41 211 512 0 0 0 0
However, so far my simulations need more thickness in the elements and the use of thick elements are required. Is there any way to assign 8-dof (from n1 to n8) per shell element?
thanks
