Mesh using Gmsh for skin depth in simulation of electromagnetic heating in Getdp
I am interested in evaluating the resulting skin depth for High Frequency electromagnetic induction. The skin depth for high-frequency ( >50kHz) is of the range of 0.1 mm in the copper coil. Hence, a very fine mesh is required at the surface of the coil. I have some questions regarding the meshing techniques that could be used in Gmsh. The Getdp tutorial file indheat.geo is used as a reference.

Boundary Layer mesh:
- How could this be used for the coil? There is a possibility in 2D, how can a 3D boundary layer be implemented?
-
I see that there is a possibility to define localized mesh using Size Fields based on primitive objects such as cylinder, frustum etc.
-
For instance, if I have to mesh only the coil, is it possible to customize the mesh size of the coil for the volume defined only by the coil (in indheat.geo : 'vol_coil[]' ).

How could the mesh be defined for mesh size varying across the cross-section of the coil ( As illustrated in Fig.3 of the paper "Quality open source mesh generation for cardiovascular flow simulations", by E. Marchandise, P. Crosetto, C. Geuzaine, J.-F. Remacle and E. Sauvage)
