parallel planes do not intersect
I have two questions: 1) Is it possible to get periodic elements such as polygons instead of nodes in output file? 2) In the following code, I am trying to impose periodicity after meshing. I want surface 22 to be periodic with surface 14. I tried two versions of Periodic Surface
.
In the first version, Periodic Surface {22} = {14} Translate {1, 0, 0};
produced the following error.
No corresponding point 2 for periodic connection of surface 14 to 22 (min. distance = 9, tolerance = 1.41774e-07)
To me this makes sense since surfaces 14 and 22 have line loops in different orders. Therefore, I tried to explicitly indicate boundary edges with
Periodic Surface 22 {3,17,9,21} = 14 {1,13,7,12};
Gmsh tried to connect the mentioned edges as shown below.
Info : Encoding periodic connection between 22 and 14
Info : 3 - 1
Info : 9 - 7
Info : 17 - 13
Info : 21 - 12
However, Gmsh produced the following error.
Error : parallel planes do not intersect
Error : parallel planes do not intersect
Error : Only rotations or translations can currently be computed automatically for periodic faces: face 22 not meshed
I also tried Using
for explicit affine transformation but Gmsh complained about wrong syntax. My Gmsh version is 4.7.1.
