indicating a surface when exporting a mesh
I'm looking for some help with gmsh but I can't find anyone to ask for help. Please direct me to a better place if this isn't it. If I should have put this post someone else, please let me know.
I'm struggling to learn gmsh. The user manual on gmsh.info isn't very friendly, but it's at least something. If there's a better resource, please let me know.
I'm using scripts to build and mesh my geometry, but I need to "mark" or "indicate" surfaces in the exported mesh file. The program I use to read the mesh files needs to apply specific boundary conditions to these surfaces. I can't figure out how to do this.
How can I indicate that a list of surface mesh points belong to a specific surface?
Can this be put into the exported .msh file?
Do I have to create a separate file and manually write some node points out to it? How would I do this??? I'm really struggling with the gmsh scripts and don't even know if I can create a generic file or if I can enumerate over a surface's node points.
Thank you.
