Slow graphical interaction for element selection

Hi, I've been using Gmsh for a few years now and since the last versions (I'd say 4.x, but I'm not exactly sure), the element selection (for example when selecting surfaces to add to physical groups) is running very slow. I've to wait a few seconds between a click and the effective selection, while it was almost instantaneous in oldest versions. I'm currently using version 4.8.4 but the problem appears before. I tried to change the default rendering options without success. So if you have any idea... Thanks in advance !
