Quick start
To run the model, open electromagnet.pro
or transfo.pro
with Gmsh
and click on the "Run" button in the left panel.
Features addressed in this tutorial
- Eddy current problems in frequency- and time-domain
- Complex-valued solutions (phasors)
- Use of a template library containing generic formulations
Additional information
The electromagnet model electromagnet.pro
is the same as in Tutorial
2, but set up using a predefined template formulation file. In
addition to static fields, the template provides a frequency-domain
magnetodynamic formulation to compute the induced currents in the magnetic (and
conducting) core in steady-state, for a sinusoidal source current.
The transformer model transfo.pro
uses the same template file to model a
simple transformer, in both frequency- and time-domain. A circuit coupling is
used to connect the primary winding to a voltage source and the secondary
winding to a resistive load.
